and away we go

my chariot awaits.
yay to a seat on the upper deck :)
leaving tonight, back mid-june.
first stop: paris!

summer arsenal

much as i love the season, i hate the sun. and freckles. accidentally went a little overboard at the drugstore and meet the line-up of sun-zappers i acquired for a pretty penny. this pre-emptive strike is ironic, considering how wet paris currently is. oh paris, why do you break my heart so?

p/s don't play play it's spf 130+++

tropical storm

gotta love the view from the pad :)

streamlining my life

begins with a massive clean-up of my room.

it isn't even 4 years worth of junk but more like 14.

and hopefully after i've mercilessly tossed everything tomorrow, it'll look like something worthy of mention on http://mnmlist.com/

incidentally, the first thing i did was to unearth 8 volumes of diaries and decimate them. and then i went to town and furtively scattered the paper fragments in random bins.

on the cusp of completion

edit: discipline is short-lived. lasted all of 3h (probably the longest duration since year 2) and headed home now. bye library! bye window seat! bye powerpoint!

i don't talk about school much - because there really isn't much to talk about. if you can be bothered to check me on that, trawl through the archives and there is hardly any mention of school. then again, this is technically the exchange blog so it covered everything except class, naturally.

but seeing that this is the day before my last exam, indulge me.

typing this from my usual seat in the library. in my first two years, i probably spent too much time in this chair. he came home in third year and the library was the last place he'd be caught dead in so i wasn't around much either. spent the first half of my final year in stockholm and now i'm back, a trip down memory lane is not complete without ending this journey (oh i'm so melodramatic) back where it began. have had the pleasure of fantastic friends, every year there was great company to be had both in the library and out, and i can't believe that it's my turn to be on my way out of school. seems like just yesterday i was in year 2 and my date du annee, the lovely S, was in her final year. and now she's gone on to much bigger things and i'm about to graduate myself. time flies.

so one last library day and then i'm out of here and into the great beyond. so psyched i don't even care if i get a parking ticket for parking in a season lot.

rouen

i love googleimage.

self-improvement

it's less than a week to take off but in this one week i endeavour to brush up my thimble of french, teach myself espagnol from scratch and learn to take photos that look like this.

because my current photo quality really pales in comparison to the photos proudly displayed on the website. this disparity frustrates me no end because i feel so inadequate being unable to capture the scene as i see it.

(top two photos from official website of the resort we stayed at a fortnight ago, last photo is sadly mine)

brunch in singapore

bacon and tempura oyster sandwich with lemon aioli

steak and poached eggs

you can always tell when the hen is a happy by the colour of the yolk.
this particular feathered friend must've been ecstatic.

lovely brunch with lovelier (albeit hungover) company.

the only downside was the swarm of pesky flies (oh eww) and screaming babies (double eww) at the next table. call me fascist but babies should be banned from brunch. and aeroplanes. and possibly condemned to those awful playgrounds as far away from civilisation as possible. my lack of maternal sentiment could put me in good stead for future profession. heartless? quite possibly.

(i tend to forget that i was a whiny little thing once upon a time)
