guai lo food in shanghai

this would have been sacrilege if it hadn't come so highly recommended.

there's an awesome little bakery on the ground floor, and a pizzeria too! so bread from the bakery and pizza from the pizzeria is available at mr. willis', along with a laundry list of their specialties. everything we ordered was good, with the roast chicken being particularly spectacular. the scallops were done perfectly and the pavlova to die for. my mouth is watering just thinking about dinner!

the restaurant is run by a bona fide englishman and on the 3rd and top floor of a narrow walk-up. the wooden interior gives it a strange cabin feel (as if you're in the mountains, but not quite) and the huge bouquets off fresh flowers were a nice touch :)
