now i'm pretty sure this (camwhoring in the onsen) is taboo in ryokan culture but the bath was empty in the morning when these photos were snapped. also, i didn't take them (duh) so judge away while the photographer pleads tourist immunity :) lovely bath, surreal and peaceful. just what the doctor ordered!
would you like to know something funny though? the men's and ladies' onsen alternates every day. so if you're not careful and go by muscle memory instead of the cloth covering the door way, you just might stumble into the wrong bath. not like i have...
