metaphorically speaking, of course. for there was no fat lady at the catholic ceremony. most of the nuns were scrawny, pickled-looking women with puckered mouths and sad eyes.
went on a food tour after the church ceremony and chanced upon this bustling (not) hawker centre in the city.
my first taste of kuching laksa! personally unenthused because i like my laksa lemak and with hum. lots of hum. but i suppose the sambal laksa paste was an interesting change, because don't knock it till you've tried it... gimme katong laksa any day though!
san mee
joo he eng chye with so much red sauce i filled an empty bowl with the stuff in a vain attempt to separate the cuttlefish and spinach from the evils that is tim jioh :(
chendol that was nothing to scream about. the coconut milk was slightly off. yuck.
hits and misses, the ko lo mee (not in photo) was not bad. although nothing compared to the jalan green ko lo mee. guess that's the beauty of exploring and experimenting. you never know what you're going to get, and until you've tried it, you're none the wiser. not worth a repeat visit but for the home made drinks stall (in photo) with the vats of home made soya bean milk.
