killing time kuching

after the  hawker centre binge (previous post) right after wedding reception, we had to walk off brunch and lunch. checked out a row of shop houses across the water from the istana. was grossed out by the flies around the fish but intrigued by the ingenious fly-catching methods employed. that was one crowded sheet of fly paper! and the chicken feet were cool, in a gross way. i could feel the tiny claws scratchy scratchying away at my insides. ewww. and hmm the row of shops selling all manner of produce and sundries was like going back in time, to the time pre-supermarkets. there was a simple beauty about the place and the people, nobody seemed to be in a hurry to get anywhere or do anything. the siesta spirit was in the air and all i wanted to do was languish on a hammock as i watched the world go by.
